Roots Foundation Month 2026: Challenge Yourself. Change a Life.
This July, my personal challenge was 100 km of running, 50 km of cycling and 8,000 metres of swimming. On my birthday, 24th July, I also completed a Half Marathon in 2:00:22, breaking a personal best that had stood for five years.
There is a wonderful sense of achievement in pushing yourself physically. But when those kilometres have a purpose beyond your own fitness, the feeling is very different. It is incredibly humbling.
“A personal challenge can change you. A challenge with purpose can help change someone else’s life.”
And that purpose remains close to our hearts: supporting girl child education.
Education can give a young girl confidence, independence, choices and the freedom to dream about what her future could become. That is what gives every kilometre and every challenge a meaning far beyond the finish line.
This year, that purpose brought together a record 111 Champions across 25 locations and 7 countries.
The same spirit of community came alive through our two Charity Dinners—one in Dehradun, India, and the other in Nottingham, UK. Being able to attend both was particularly special and a beautiful reminder that while our community crosses borders, we remain united by one mission.
Together, we went on to achieve 268% of our fundraising goal, raising an incredible ₹10.70 lakhs in July alone.
These numbers make me proud, but more than anything, they make me grateful. Behind every kilometre and every contribution is someone who chose to believe in what we are trying to achieve.
Perhaps that is what Roots Foundation Month means most to me: taking something as personal as a fitness challenge and giving it a purpose that extends far beyond
To our Champions, supporters, contrubutors, friends and the entire Roots Foundation family—thank you for believing, supporting and walking this journey with us.
Life is truly beautiful.
Challenge yourself. Change a life.
