My Story

As most of you know that I come from the hill state of Uttarakhand in India and also that I have spent a good number of years with health care professionals, hence, to support girl child education and NHS in U.K we launched Roots Foundation in July 2020.

Some of you are aware that I enjoy running and get very excited every time I get a medal after successfully completing an event. Last year I had a couple of leg injuries which kept me away from running for approx. 100 days. However, this year I want to create awareness about Roots Foundation and the causes we support.

I have decided to run 100k throughout July to create awareness and also raise money so that we could make a difference to people’s lives.

On an average I do one weekly long run so approx. 12-15 km which is 50-60 km a month. The challenge is to “double up” my monthly running efforts and take it as a challenge which I have never done before.

So please help me to support Roots Foundation in its cause to support girl child education in India and NHS in UK by donating, any amount will be much appreciated 😊

How will your donation help?

Through this initiative, we support & transform the lives of girls in the villages of Uttarakhand who have no access to elementary education. These include providing computers, books for the library, and helping an economically weaker background girl with her school fees or higher education.

By taking part, you will be supporting these young girls by giving them equal opportunities to go to school.

Every year we will pick up a department/ facility to offer our support in the NHS.
